Elon Musk is no stranger to controversy. The Tesla founder recently made headlines for his interview with Don Lemon in which he criticized America’s obsession with race, spoke to his use of ketamine to treat depression, and detailed his meeting with Donald Trump. Now, Musk ignited the internet once again with comments he made about the way in which Biden is handling the immigration crisis.
Elon Musk has been anything but quiet about his disapproval of how the democrats have handled the migrant crisis. He took to X to share his feelings and concerns on the way in which the Biden Administration is handling border control.
He explained that he feels Biden is allowing the migrant crisis to wage on due to the fact that these people are almost surely to vote blue in future elections. He described it as “importing as many votes as possible before the elections.”
He claims that the Biden administration has turned a blind eye to the thousands of migrants crossing the borders in order to stack up democratic votes ahead of the looming election rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
However, despite Musk’s claims, the state of New York does not allow noncitizens to vote in federal or state elections. Since it would take a migrant years to become a U.S. citizen, these migrants crossing the borders will not be able to vote in the upcoming 2024 election in Biden’s favor.
Musk is not the only one criticizing BIden for the way he has handled the migrant crisis. More than 170,000 migrants have flooded into New York since the spring of 2022. Shelters are overrun and the state is not equipped to handle such an influx of people.
Musk doubled down on his comments after the very high-profile cop attack that took place in Times Square in February. He noted that 5 out of 6 of the asylum-seekers who attacked the cops were released without bail and the group fled to California.
He wrote to X, “You can literally assault police officers in broad daylight in New York, be released with no bail, give everyone the finder and ‘still’ not be deported!! Outrageous.”
Musk didn’t stop with Joe Biden. He went so far as to call for the impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas (United States Secretary of Homeland Security) over the way he has handled the border crisis. He posted an online poll on X asking users if Mayorkas should be impeached.
Musk continues to double down on his disapproval of the way in which the Biden administration and democrats at large are handling the influx of migrants into the U.S. Republicans on Capitol Hill have echoed Musk’s rhetoric as well.
