At a campaign rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 7th, former President Donald Trump called for modifying the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.
Trump said if a vice president “lies or engages in a conspiracy to cover up the incapacity of the president” they should be removed from office.
Trump stated, “I will support modifying the 25th Amendment to make clear that if a vice president lies or engages in a conspiracy to cover up the incapacity of the president of the United States… if you do that with a cover-up of the president of the United States, it’s grounds for impeachment immediately and removal from office, cause that’s what they did… that’s what they did.”
Accusations of the White House engaging in a cover-up has been happening since President Joe Biden suspended his presidential campaign in July.
Trump followed up with, “You know, think of it… if he didn’t go to that debate, he’d still be running… still be running.”
Trump finally suggested that the country would collapse if he wasn’t voted into office: “To every citizen who’s sick and tired of the parasitic political class in Washington that sucks our country of its blood and treasure, November 5th will be your liberation day… November 5th, this year will be the most important day in the history of our country, because we’re not going to have a country anymore if we don’t win.”
As Trump supports removal of Harris, he also suggests, “The Harris-Biden DOJ is trying to throw me in jail… they want me in jail… for the crime of exposing their corruption.”
Trump’s remarks signal his ongoing critique of the Biden-Harris administration and emphasize his belief that the upcoming election is a pivotal moment for the nation’s future. His call for changes to the 25th Amendment underscores his broader push for political accountability.
