Recent polling from Emerson College and The Hill shows Cruz leading Allred by 4 points, which is within the margin of error. Cruz holds 48 percent support while Allred has 44 percent, with 8 percent of voters still undecided.
Allred holds a strong lead among minority and younger voters in Texas. However, Cruz leads by a wide margin with white voters and those over 50.
On average, Real Clear Politics shows Cruz leading Allred by about 6 points. Other recent polls show Cruz with leads of 8 to 10 points, indicating a consistent advantage.
A poll from Clean and Prosperous America PAC showed Cruz ahead by only 2 points. This suggests the race could still tighten as the election approaches.
If Allred wins, he would become the first Democrat to represent Texas in the Senate since 1993. Cruz’s last election in 2018 was also close, with him winning by just 2.6 percent.
Former Republican Representative Liz Cheney has endorsed Allred. She called him an “honorable public servant” and announced she would actively support his campaign.
